Computer Aided Diagnostic System for X-RAY

Artificial intelligence based solution for examining X-RAY of a patient.

About X-RAY

X-rays are a type of radiation called electromagnetic waves. X-ray imaging creates pictures of the inside of your body. ... Calcium in bones absorbs x-rays the most, so bones look white. Fat and other soft tissues absorb less and look gray. X-rays can be used to examine most areas of the body. They're mainly used to look at the bones and joints, although they're sometimes used to detect problems affecting soft tissue, such as internal organs.

X-RAY Statistics

With approximately 3.6 billion procedures per year, chest X-rays are the most common imaging examination tool used in practice, critical for screening, diagnosis, and management of diseases including pneumonia. However, an estimated two thirds of the global population lacks access to radiology diagnostics.

Our Work

Our model, Zyik.ml, is a 121-layer convolutional neural network that inputs a chest X-ray image and outputs the probability of pneumonia along with a heatmap localizing the areas of the image most indicative of pneumonia.
Zyik.ml is trained on a dataset which contains 112,120 frontal-view chest X-ray images individually labeled with up to 14 different thoracic diseases, including pneumonia. We use dense connections and batch normalization to make the optimization of such a deep network tractable.
